Privacy Policy — ELA: E-Learning of Arduino

Last updated: 24 September 2026 · Published by Tycoln

ELA is an educational app about Arduino boards. This policy explains what the app collects, why, and what your choices are.

The app has no accounts and no sign-in. You can use everything in it without telling us who you are.

What the app collects

1. Comments you post

The app has a discussion area under each example. If you post a comment, the app stores the text of your comment and the time you posted it on Google Cloud Firestore.

Comments are public. Anyone using the app can read them. Do not put personal information — your name, email, phone number, address or anything else that identifies you — into a comment.

Comments are not tied to an account, a name or a device identifier. Once posted, a comment cannot be edited or deleted from inside the app.

2. Abuse reports

If you report a comment, the app sends us the reported comment's text, the reason you chose, which example it was under, and the time. Reporting also hides that comment on your device straight away.

3. Usage and diagnostics

The app uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the app is used — which screens are opened, how long sessions last, crashes and errors, and general device information such as model, operating system version and approximate region derived from your IP address.

This includes a randomly generated app instance identifier. It is not your name, your Google account or your advertising ID, and we do not combine it with anything that identifies you.

4. Things that never leave your device

Your favourites and the list of comments you have hidden are stored only in the app's local storage on your phone. They are not uploaded anywhere. Uninstalling the app erases them.

What the app does not collect

The app asks for no permissions that need your approval — no camera, microphone, location, contacts or storage. It uses only standard permissions that Android grants automatically: internet and network-state access to load comments and videos, plus a few that Google Firebase and Google Play add so Analytics can work (keeping the device briefly awake to send data, and reading how the app was installed).

Third parties

We do not sell your data and we do not share it with anyone else.

How long data is kept

Comments and abuse reports are kept until removed by us. Analytics data is retained according to Firebase's default retention period.

Children

The app is aimed at students and hobbyists learning electronics. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Because comments are free text, we moderate reported content and remove anything inappropriate.

Removing a comment or requesting deletion

Because comments carry no identity, we cannot verify who wrote which one. If you want a specific comment removed — yours or someone else's — use the Report button next to it in the app, or email us with enough detail to find it. We aim to review reports within 7 days.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, or ask for it to be deleted. Since the app collects no identifying information, in most cases we hold nothing that can be linked to you. Email us if you have a question.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top will be updated.
